CRAZY LIXX - Crazy Lixx

Despite the eponymous title, this is actually the Swedish glamsters' fourth album. Fresh off the Sunset Strip, via Malmo, although they cite the titans of the era, Crazy Lixx offer multi-voice party anthems more akin to Jetboy. Songs like “Hell Raising Women”, “Psycho City” and poppy “Girls Of The 80s” pretty much tells the story. Elsewhere, there's the acoustic tinged power ballad “Outlaw” and saccharine “I Missed The Mark”: “I missed the mark. I was never aiming for your heart. When it comes to loving, I'm a loaded gun. I missed the mark. This time I was too quick on the draw. I'm gonna lay down my guns before I really hurt someone.” They even deride similar minded (looking) acts, with “All Looks, No Hooks”. Atypical of the rest, “Ain't No Rest In Rock N Roll” sounds like a raspy throated AC/DC (or Rhino Bucket/Dirty Looks, etc.) number, apart from the gang chorus. Easy sing-along "Heroes Are Forever" bucks the sickening sweet trend and the closing 'Wrecking Ball Crew” recalls the energy of Skid Row, complete with the most frenetic guitar-work herein.
