KISS Rocks Vegas

In November 2014, KISS played a nine-show residency at The Joint, inside The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Now, that glorious spectacle is available to enjoy in the comfort of your own home via DVD and Blu-Ray. Flanked by giant video screens on all sides, KISS deliver an astounding 16-song set, complete with top-notch pyro and light show. So brilliantly filmed and edited, with countless camera angles offering numerous viewpoints, it’s almost better than being there in person. Although KISS has done this all before, the fans in attendance absolutely love it when the band brings out their old tricks. Gene Simmons spits blood and is elevated to the rafters for “God Of Thunder”, Paul Stanley flies across the crowd to a venue-spanning catwalk for “Love Gun”, and confetti cannons erupt for “Rock And Roll All Nite”. Personal favourites are “Parasite” and “I Love It Loud”; those two rock so much harder live.
Bonus footage comes in the form of a seven-song acoustic set – filmed without makeup – featuring tunes not performed in the main concert. Casual yet ultra cool, the very small, private audience is treated to a ball cap, jeans and t-shirt rendition of “Hard Luck Woman” and “Love Her All I Can” among others; stripped down, they still sound amazing. Last but not least, the packaging is really appreciated with great fold-outs and a full colour 16-page booklet packed with photos. You really can’t go wrong here. Collectors take note - an Amazon exclusive version is available with a 60-page book and both sets on CD.
