KISSIN' DYNAMITE - Generation Goodbye

Now this is more like it! After picking their '14 album as one of the year's worst, the German youngsters not only return to the high energy, glammy, pop metal style with which they rose to prominence, but skewer the digital generation as well. “Hashtag Your Life” reads like a diatribe against modern life: “You're caught in your cyber cocoon, while wasting away in your room. Hashtag your lonely, lonely life Count all your views check all your views. I'm going to like it, like it, all alone”.

“Masterpiece” is a dual sex duet, while “If Clocks Are Running Backwards” could be huge on American radio, sounding like a missing (?) Creed ballad. “Somebody To hate” and a gritty, bottom end heavy “Under Friendly Fire” get things back on track, though the latter's lyrics concern relationships, not battlefield tactics. “Highlight Zone” could be a recent Stratovarius outtake. The Broadway styled “Utopia” concludes things on a weak note, but live is where these guys excel anyway.
