MY RUIN - Speak And Destroy

One of the first CDs I ever reviewed was Tura Satana's release on Noise a few years back. Musically it was OK, but the bio just went on and on about the singer, Tairrie B., and her "shocking" personality, which was pretty much enough to ruin the whole thing for me. So, fast forward to present day and thanks to the obscenely prolific Spitfire Records we get this 65 minute (groooooaaaaaannnn...) CD masterminded by Ms. B herself. It's a mess. The first song is sort of a spoken word ranting over top of a boring electronic backtrack, the second song is more of a standard heavy angst-core thing, the third song is a fucking electronic sounding cover of 80's pop hit 'Tainted Love', the fourth song is an almost-good heavy/industrial/hardcore kinda thing... and on and on, the torture never stops. Some of the lyrics are pretty cool, sort of a modern angst poetry that would probably be a good read in book form, but when placed in the same package as this sub-demo potpourri of poo I just can't cope with it.
