NABERUS - The Lost Reveries

Aussie metal band Naberus is dressed to impress! On its second full-length release, The Lost Reveries, the band creates an impressive blend of melodic death metal, metalcore and thrash. The 14 track album contains five brand new songs and nine re-mastered versions from their previous independent release, Reveries. The original Reveries was good enough by itself, with standout tracks aplenty. Getting a re-release from Eclipse Records containing five new hard-hitting melodeath anthems, The Lost Reveries is a good way to get introduced to Naberus’s melodic-yet-aggressive approach to the genre.

Analyzing the new tracks, “Close Your Eyes” is a groove-laden scorcher, which the band expands their sound even more. “Embers” is a haunting instrumental, “Torch The Sky” has predictable melodies and song structures, but the hypnotic main guitar melody and aggressive vocals keep it flowing. “Vultures” contains a wicked buildup decorated with buzzing guitar sounds, giving the impression of circling vultures above you while “Walk The Streets,” with its melodic guitar harmonies, marching drum rudiments and soaring choir-like vocal harmonies, also stands out. If you’re already a fan of melodic death metal, then The Lost Reveries is a must-have release.
