NECROHOLOCAUST - Holocaustic Goat Metal

43 minutes of pure Canadian bestial metal is pushing it, but anyone who realizes just how good we got it here for metal that verges on the war side of black (Conqueror, Revenge, let's take it back to Blasphemy) know that if anyone can do it, it's a bunch of nutters from Vancouver, BC. And here on their first full-length after a lifetime of splits (seriously, the band formed back in 2003), Necroholocaust do lay down the maniacal mania with no shortage of blasting and grinding, and also with plenty of moments where things go slow and epic, the vibe becoming glorious and triumphant, and it's in those moments you realize that the production is actually way cleaner than you've been assuming, and there's actually way more sophistication here than a band named Necroholocaust who put out a debut album named Holocaustic Goat Metal should have. But just when you think that, bam, here comes the bestial grinding and the blackthrash assault and... yeah, you know, there is a surprising amount of variety to chew on here, as Necroholocaust prove themselves a very worthy contender in Canada's black/war metal scene with this rampaging debut.
