SICK/TIRED - Dissolution

Get some guys from MK Ultra and the mighty Weekend Nachos together and this is what happens: a chaotic and raw mixture of grindcore and power violence, a 22-minute album that opens with a seven-second messy grindcore song and is followed up by a one-minute noise track (a collaboration with noise legend Merzbow, to boot). I love stuff like this, the album (the band's third) structured in such a way that things just start crazy and get crazier, forward momentum propelling the band along faster than their love for old Slap-A-Ham compilations, only thing resembling breathing room being the two longer sludge-ridden songs tacked in on the end. Just tons of great bass-heavy crust/grind/power violence band names come to mind while listening to this, and it's a super refreshing, energetic, and totally unhinged wall of grinding noise, the kind of thing that can put some hair on your chest after listening to too much clinical and predictable not-really-all-that-extreme music out there these days. Noisy, crazy, and with tons of heart, this is one ugly release worth listening to.
