SIN CITY SINNERS - Let It Burn

Exactly six years after the release of the debut Sin City Sinners album, Exile On Fremont Street, the proper follow-up, Let It Burn, has ignited a very welcome rock ‘n roll firestorm. Sure there were releases in between: an acoustic EP, two Christmas albums, and a covers disc. But now, the hardest working band in Vegas is back with ten brand new original songs; and a completely different lineup! Michael ‘Doc’ Ellis is the only remaining original member, and he’s switched from bass to guitar. Joining him in the 2016 Sinners incarnation are drummer Blas Elias (Slaughter, The Blue Man Group), bassist Scotty Griffin (L.A. Guns) and incredibly talented new vocalist Joshua Alan – this guy’s got such a great voice! And in an unusual yet successful move, band manager Jason Green wrote lyrics to four of the tunes.

Leadoff track and first single “Livin’ Like A Sinner” is instantaneous enjoyment – and it sounds just as good on the album as it does live on stage. “Higher Than High” is full of pop-infused hooks, the kind of track you crank while cruising down the highway with the ragtop down. “So Yeah!” sees ‘Doc’ Ellis ranting and raving in a manner we can all identify with – “People on the web man, I’ve got over 1,000 friends, I know 3.” Just can’t get enough of “Glad To Say Goodbye” – quite possibly the best breakup song ever! Scotty Griffin grabs the microphone for an amusing, surf-rock inspired ode to cannabis named “If Mary Wanna”. Going old school, Let It Burn, clocks in at a rabble-rousing 37 minutes in length; with every second more than worthy of radio airplay.
