SPEEDTRAP - Straight Shooter

The crash of two super-sonic military jets, laden with bombs, couldn't sound any more bombastic than these eight tracks. Somewhere between the classic late '70s Motorhead canon ("No Glory Found") and Exciter's Heavy Metal Maniac debut ('09 Raw Deal EP even mimicked the cover art), complete with squeaky, Bon Scott-influenced singer, comes Finland's Speedtrap: full on low fi production "values" and speed metal cranked to max.

"Serve Your Masters" is basically all rapid snare drum and blazing guitars. Although the Aussies haven't been anywhere near this dangerous in three decades, the AC/DC flavored title track is a bit of a departure, appearing two-thirds of the way through this all too short BLAST (being the operative word!) from the past. Wall of feedback can't hide the ride cymbal chiming throughout the buzzing 'Heavy Armor'. An insane, foot-tapping, air guitar inducing listen. Love it!
