VISCERAL THRONE - Those Who Have Fallen Beyond The Grace Of God

Just in case no one's listening when I say this weekly, extreme metal production works best when it's raw and ugly, and Indiana's Visceral Throne know what I'm talking about. The sounds here on their EP, which follows up a full-length I'll admit to not hearing but now fully want to, are super raw and very ugly, and the production follows suit. And it works; man, does it work, the snare cracking and changing sounds with every hit, the tunes definitely hitting the sewers for a fairly bestial take on Immolation's slime and Incantation's grime, but for the most part staying firmly in death metal terrain as opposed to anything too blackened or war-tinged.

And man, it's great, these guys laying down a totally killer 13-minute EP here, a very satisfying listen, as ragged as it is powerful and as moving as it is crushing. Sign me up for the next full-length, and excuse me as I go seek out the first album to see what I've been missing. I suggest you do the same. This concept EP (!) (and, no idea) also has an Internal Suffering cover, for those extremely brutal enough to know what that means.
