It has been forty years since Monty Python's Flying Circus aired its premiere episode on BBC TV, igniting a comedic revolution. Setting the bar for satire, slapstick, and outright silliness, the Pythons have elevated themselves to iconic status, from comedy troupe to cultural phenomenon. To commemorate the 40th Anniversary of this legendary ensemble, Eagle Rock Entertainment have released Monty Python: Almost The Truth (The Lawyer's Cut) on 3DVD or 2Blu-ray.
Monty Python: Almost The Truth (The Lawyers Cut) covers the members of the Monty Python comedy troupe from their birth to the present day. It highlights their childhood, schooling and university life, pre-Python work and includes interviews from modern day comedians and performers that cite the troupe as an influence including IRON MAIDEN's Bruce Dickinson, Steve Coogan, Eddie Izzard and Russell Brand. It is the first time in over twenty years that all five surviving Pythons (John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin) have come together for such a project. The film also includes archive footage of the late Graham Chapman.
