Steve "Lips" Kudlow, guitarist/vocalist from Canadian metal legends ANVIL, will appear live on WJCU's Metal On Metal radio program Friday, October 2 between 6:30 PM and 9:30 PM (EST). Lips will be discussing the DVD release of his critically acclaimed rock documentary Anvil: The Story Of Anvil, the reissue of the band's This Is Thirteen studio album and their appearance October 6 on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. Lips is currently in Los Angeles preparing for the band's Tonight Show appearance, along with filming and recording for an up and coming movie for next summer.

WJCU Metal On Metal host Bill Peters titled his radio program after the Anvil song back in 1982 when his Friday night program first aired. "I saw the band play in front of a small but enthusiastic crowd at the Cleveland Agora on the Metal On Metal tour and have been a diehard fan ever since", says Peters. "Their performance was high energy, exciting and very memorable. The band even passed out special full-length vinyl tour editions of their Attic Records 'Metal On Metal' album free to everyone in attendance that I still have in my collection. I had already purchased an import copy of the regular version of the album well before the show."

Peters opens his radio program every Friday night with 'March Of The Crabs' and 'Metal On Metal'. "It has become the anthem for the start of the weekend here in Cleveland", adds Peters. "People look forward to hearing those two songs back-to-back each and every Friday night. It's a symbolic end to their work week and puts everyone in the right frame of mind to have a good time and enjoy the weekend".

"We just did That Metal Show. It was truly excellent", says Lips. "The momentum is overwhelming. The DVD comes out on October 6 and the movie plays on VH1 and VH1 Classic on October 3. I'm quite certain Anvil's obscurity will end forever...and a part of me will always remain with my hardcore fans like Bill (Peters). I take my friends very seriously and know I truly look at Bill as being our greatest and most devoted radio personality. He deserves a BIG thanks for the years of helping our cause and believing in Anvil".

Anvil performed live with RAVEN, PILEDRIVER and DESTRUCTOR in Cleveland at the Beachland Ballroom in September of 2007 for the WJCU Metal On Metal 25th Anniversary Concert. Benefiting from the years of regular radio support, Cleveland has always been a strong market for Anvil. The band has performed live in Cleveland over the years more times than any other U.S. city.

"The success of the movie is making me look good now too", says Peters. "I am getting comments like 'Oh yeah, that's the band you've been playing and talking about on your radio show for the past 27 years...they really are good...you were right!' I am very happy for Lips and the band. If anyone deserves success and have paid their dues, it's Anvil. They are an inspiration to all of us to never give up on your dreams in life."

Also appearing live on the program with Lips will be Metal On Metal Records label owner Jowita Kaminska. Metal On Metal Records is a young label located in Italy and focused on all traditional styles of metal. The label was formed in 2008 by Kaminska, known in the scene as an album cover painter and photographer (you can check her works at www.jowita-kaminska.com) and Simone Peruzzi, music journalist and graphic layouter. Bands on the label roster include NOMAD SON, CATCH 22, HEATHENDOM, FALLEN ANGELS, METAL LAW, MIDNIGHT IDOLS, SKELATOR, BATTLERAGE, F.K.U., SESTA MARCONI, RACHEL'S COVEN, BRUTAL HAND and FRANKENSHRED.

Metal On Metal, hosted by Bill Peters can be heard every Friday night from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (EST) at 88.7 FM in the Cleveland area or streamed live worldwide at www.wjcu.org. The long-running, award-winning and highly respected radio program has been providing heavy metal on the airwaves to the metal fans of Cleveland since 1982.
