earMUSIC has announced the release of Circle II Circle’s first ever live album, Live At Wacken (Official Bootleg), to be released on August 8th (Germany / Switzerland / Austria) and August 22nd (rest of world).

In August 2012, Circle II Circle, the band founded by Savatage’s former lead vocalist Zak Stevens, performed at the world biggest and craziest heavy-metal festival, Wacken Open Air, in Germany and played one of Savatage’s most successful albums, The Wake Of Magellan, almost in its entirety.

Starting in 2011, Circle II Circle included more and more songs of Savatage in their live performance which found their peak at Wacken Open Air 2012. The dynamic of the world famous festival was the perfect place to perform the likewise popular album.

The Wake Of Magellan, one of the last album of Zak Stevens recorded with Savatage, is considered to be the band‘s best work in the post-1993 Savatage canon by many. Narrated by Stevens’ phenomenal voice and framed by deeply emotional and highly expressional compositions, the album can easily be described as a true rock opera. The combination of bombastic guitar riffs, epic keyboard sounds, and truly majestic vocal parts is a pure enjoyment for any listener.

Circle II Circle’s live performance of The Wake Of Magellan doesn’t even lose the slightest hint of excitement and atmosphere in comparison to the studio version – looking up from all the highlights the original record has to offer, one will notice that it seems even more intense when performed live. The combination of Stevens’ phenomenal voice, the deep emotional seriousness of the songs and the unbelievable energy of Wacken make the album to a listening experience you shouldn’t miss.
