DAMON JOHNSON On BROTHER CANE's Long-Awaited Reunion - "The Band Has Always Held A Spiritual Place In My Mind"

Brother Cane's long-awaited return is over, as the band will be heading out on a US tour to commemorate their 30th Anniversary. The tour will kick off on October 26 in Woodstock, GA, and continue through December 2 in Memphis, TN.

A complete list of tour dates and ticket links can be found here.

In addition to the tour, on October 20, their 1993 self-titled debut album will be reissued on vinyl and CD. The band will include two new songs, "Blinded By The Sun" and "Are You In There Anymore," as 7" singles with longtime collaborator and multi-platinum producer Marti Frederiksen. These songs fit perfectly into Brother Cane's vast catalog, with the band delivering vibrant, melodic music with an edgy Southern hard rock bite.

The band - Damon Johnson [vocals/guitar], Glenn Maxey [bass], Jarred Pope [drums], Buck Johnson [keyboards], and Tony Higbee [guitar] - have an undeniable chemistry and are destined to please on tour. Head here for tickets and more information.

Sonic Perspectives correspondent Robert Cavuoto spoke to Damon about the impetus for reforming the band, how they recaptured the energy and enthusiasm of the band's legacy on the two new songs, his guitar approach for making music with Brother Cane, and what fans can expect to hear during their live shows. Find out below.

Brother Cane released the band's debut self-titled album in 1993 on Virgin Records. The album peaked at #14 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and would produce several hit singles including "Got No Shame" (#2 Mainstream Rock), "That Don't Satisfy Me" (#6 Mainstream Rock), and "Hard Act To Follow" (#12 Mainstream Rock). The album evoked the classic rock sound of early Black Crowes and Guns N' Roses. The album was produced by the legendary songwriter and record producer Martin "Marti" Frederiksen. The album garnered the band U.S. tours with Aerosmith, Robert Plant, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of this stunning rock record, Girder Music is reissuing the album on CD (including two bonus tracks), Cassette, and for the first time ever, on Vinyl. Pre-orders can be placed now at this location. It will be released on October 20.
