Designs For JIMI HENDRIX Park To Be Unveiled Tonight

According to Central District News, JIMI HENDRIX' music and legacy is being transformed into a new park, set to open next year for what would have been his 70th birthday.

Designs for the Jimi Hendrix Park, which will be located in the Central District, will be revealed tonight during a public meeting at the Northwest African American Museum at 6:30 p.m.

Members of the Friends of Jimi Hendrix Park, Murase Associates and Seattle Parks Department staff will be available during the meeting to discuss the design, fund raising events and community volunteer opportunities.

Themes found in his music are planned to be artistically represented in the 2.5-acre park park though lyrical stepping stones, rain drums, a sculpted butterfly garden, performance area, sound garden and a green space.
