In a recent interview with Drum For The Song, found below, Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren revealed his five favourite Megadeth songs to play live
Verbeuren: "It kinda changes, but the Top 5 - definitely 'Wake Up Dead' is in there, a super fun song to play. The first song I ever heard by the band because 'Peace Sells...'; you put the needle on that and that song came up. A classic Megadeth song for me. It has a very unusual structure, which a lot of Megadeth songs do. It's just fun to do, it's great. I also love playing 'Hangar 18.' It's usually the song we open up with, a great opening track for the show.
Of course, now the fast stuff like 'Rattlehead,' 'Mechanix,' that's a joy. Those aren't always in the set but playing them is a good challenge. On the other hand, something more from the current... well, maybe not current but something more from the 'modern era' of the band, like 'Trust' or 'Absolution.'"
Verbeuren recently returned with a new Bent Sea track created as part of his "Instagrind" series. The song "Destroy The Autocrats" features Verbeuren, Battletorn vocalist Omid Torn, and Nasum bassist Jesper Liveröd. Check it out below.
