"Eddie" Creator DEREK RIGGS Claims His Life Was In Danger Over IRON MAIDEN's "Sanctuary" Single Artwork - "Margaret Thatcher Took Offense To This Picture And Tried To Have Me Executed" (Video)

In celebration of Iron Maiden's current tour, the man on the street Kenny Kessel for The Metal Voice caught up with artist and "Eddie" creator, Derek Riggs, in an exclusive one on one interview.

In Part 2 of the interview, Riggs claims his life was put in danger because of the "Sanctuary" single artwork.

Riggs: "I got in a lot of trouble. Margaret Thatcher took offense to this picture and she tried to have me executed. She had someone introduce a nerve agent into my environment, into my apartment. Bloody stuff killed my cat, nearly killed me. I was very ill. I knew some people in the CIA because I had a friend that liked fucking American soldiers at the local airbase, and they all disappeared. They said 'We can't come near you anymore because it would be bad for our careers.' One of them, a Navy Seal, came back - I met him on the grounds of the local flat I used to live in - and he said 'I'm glad I found you. I wanted to tell you that what happened to you with that nerve gas wasn't an accident. It was a hit. They tried to kill you because of that picture you did of Margaret Thatcher.'"
