GENE SIMMONS Reveals His Biggest Disappointment - "The Fact That Half The Band I Started Out With In KISS Are Not Part Of It Anymore To Enjoy The Fruits Of Their Labour"

KISS legend Gene Simmons is featured in a new interview with the UK-based Daily Mail. An excerpt is available below:

Q: When did you last feel happy?

Simmons: "I wake up happy every day. I’ve never had a bad day in my life. Probably because my mother barely survived the concentration camps of Nazi Germany – as a result, whenever I have a bad hair day, I kick myself and say: 'What the fuck are you complaining about?'"

Q: What has been your biggest achievement?

Simmons: "My band, KISS. Not only have we sold 100 million records, but I have my very own Gene Simmons postage stamp. When I go to Las Vegas, I go to the KISS golf course, then there’s the KISS limo service. However, seeing my two children being born was a wake-up call that life didn’t just revolve around me."

Q: And your biggest disappointment?

Simmons: "The fact that half the band I started out with in KISS (Ace Frehley and Peter Criss) are not part of it any more to enjoy the fruits of their labour. And all because of the cliché of clichés: drugs and alcohol. But not everyone has the DNA to run a marathon: some people are just shooting stars."

It was recently announced at Comic-Con that Simmons has been tapped to guest-star in the upcoming second season premiere of Scorpion.

According to Entertainment Weekly, details on Simmons’ role weren’t immediately available, but following the rock legend’s appearance in the Monday, September 21st episode, Scorpion will air a special 90-minute episode, following the debut of Supergirl on October 26th on CBS.

In other news, KISS members Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer signed autographs during San Diego Comic-Con International on July 9th. Check out the video footage below from Yahoo!, where they show what comic-book nerds they really are:
