After a few years with EURE ERBEN, Andreas “Lacky” Lackaw and Arnd Klink, two original members of German thrash metal commando DARKNESS, decided to resurrect the old spirit and bring Darkness back to life. Now the lineup includes “Lacky” and Arnd (who switched from guitars to vocals), guitar players Bony Fertigmensch and Meik Heitkamp and none other than Christian “Speesy” Giesler from KREATOR on bass guitar.

Darkness played their first show since their reunion at Ages Of Metal festival in Belgium on September 28th. Audio of the band performing 'Burial At Sea' and 'Iron Forces' can be heard below:

Video footage for 'Burial At Sea' follows:

Darkness released three albums between 1987 – 1989 (Death Squad, Defenders Of Justice and Conclusion & Revival) and split after European tour with MUCKY PUP. In 2004 Arnd and Lacky teamed together to play thrash metal with German lyrics in the band Eure Erben but after the Death Squad 25th anniversary show in Essen they felt it was the right moment to try out with Darkness once again.

The album Death Squad, which many fans consider as a masterpiece of Teutonic thrash metal, was reissued by High Roller Records on blue and black vinyl. Every copy includes lyrics sheet and huge poster. Details here.
