This year's edition of the Wacken Open Air festival is scheduled for August 5th - 7th in Wacken, Germany.

Organizers have issued the following update:

"We are happy to announce the Metal Battle winners of Iceland: the prog metalheads of WISTARIA will rock the W.E.T. Stage in Wacken! Founded in 2007, the five guys will announce their debut album this year and are known for their massive wall of distorted guitars, deep surge of screams, melodic and emotional solos, high-tempo double bass and blastbeats. They have also supported THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and Dutch death metal legend PESTILENCE. So look forward to experience a new kind of show with these Icelandic guys at Wacken.

The Metal Battle winner of Greece, TOTAL RIOT and Spain, VITA IMANA have been confirmed for Wacken Open Air 2010.

Total Riot, playing a mix of jungle and metal, was founded in 2004 in Athens, Greece. They share their vibes and inspiration in every live performance so catch them up on their Wacken live gig!

Vita Imana, also offering a special kind of metal with their blend of tribal and groove metal, have released their first album in 2005. Their style is fed by an enormous amount of many influences and is supported with instruments like darbukah, djembe or birimbao.

This sounds quite interesting, so watch out for their shows on the Wacken W.E.T. stage!"

Another brief message from organizers states: "The rental toilets are now sold out completely! Thanks to everyone who reserved one. The ones who reserved their own metal toilet successfully will get a confirmation email the next few days."
