The Associated Press is reporting:

Officials say a guitarist from a British heavy metal group has drowned in northeastern Brazil, and one of his band mates is missing and presumed dead.

The body of 21-year-old Leon Villalba washed ashore shortly after he was seen struggling in heavy waves on a beach in Sergipe state.

A police spokesman in the city of Aracaju says 18-year-old Tim Kennelly was with Villalba in the water on Thursday. He is missing and believed to have drowned.

The official spoke Friday on condition of anonymity as he wasn't authorized to discuss the case.

Their band, AFTER DEATH, had just begun a 23-date tour in Brazil.

Miguel Freitas, managing director of the Death Toll record label, confirmed the drowning.
