September 23, 2012, 12 years ago
Brit prog metallers HEKZ have spent the last year looking for a new fifth member. The band has now ended their search and has announced the addition of new keyboardist James Messenger.
Messenger commented: “My first thought upon hearing HeKz was ‘IRON MAIDEN and DREAM THEATER’s beautiful lovechild’ and I had the album pretty much on repeat for weeks. Joining them on keyboards has been fantastic – I’m looking forward to bringing a whole new element of blazing Hammonds, sweeping strings and swirling synth to HeKz’ live performances. See you at a gig sometime soon!”
Frontman Matt Young commented: “Being able to perform the album the way we intended is genuinely thrilling. James is a bit like mortar between the bricks and adds a boundless new dimension to our sound. He’s a thoroughly nice chap too.”
