ISOLE - "All Our Albums Are Good In Different Ways And It’s Hard To Compare Them"
March 12, 2009, 15 years ago
MetalExiles.com recently caught up with ISOLE frontman Crister Olsson to discuss the band's new album, Silent Ruins. An excerpt from the interview appears below.
Metal Exiles: When you sat down to write this record, did you know where it was going to come from?
Crister: "No, and that is simply because the compositions are written in different periods of time, only the lyrics are written especially for this album, that means that some songs had different lyrics before. And there are more than one composer of the music and it’s hard to really know what’s inside the head of the other."
Metal Exiles: Now that this record is done and out, what are your thoughts on it and how does it stack up with the others?
Crister: "Well, it’s a relief to let it go. As long as you are working on an album you always have a chance to edit things and try things out and it is a relief when the album is out and you can’t do anything with it anymore. DONE!!! It’s hard to say how pleased I am, it takes a couple of months or maybe even a year to really reflect on your work. For now I’m really pleased with the musicianship and production as well as the compositions, but as always I’m not completely satisfied, there are always things that can get better and the day I’m involved in creating the perfect album it’s probably time to quit. I think all our albums are good in different ways and it’s hard to compare them."
