JASON NEWSTED Knocked Off Stage During New York City Show By "Douchebag" Fan; Video Approved By Newsted Online

According to an update issued by MetalInsider.net, former METALLICA / VOIVOD bassist and NEWSTED frontman Jason Newsted was knocked off stage by an overzealous fan during the band's May 21st show in New York City while performing Metallica's 'Whiplash'. A clip of the incident can be viewed below along with a comment from the individual that shot the footage:
"Last night at the show in NYC, some douchebag had the bright idea to jump into the audience while knocking Jason into the crowd and onto the floor. He stopped briefly because it looked like he was shaken up for a few seconds, but went back into the song as a true badass. After the show, I had the privilege to meet him and he said he was okay. I showed him the vid as well as the bandmates, and Jason said 'Put it on YouTube.' I have his approval... lol."Newsted recently confirmed European tour dates, including a special appearance at The 100 Club in London, England on June 12th.
