Arizona based extreme metallers JOB FOR A COWBOY's debut album, Genesis, landed at #54 on Billboard's Top 200 chart this week, shifting nearly 13,000 units.

Genesis exceeded expectations and joined the initial releases from STONE SOUR and DAMAGEPLAN (which featured members of SLIPKNOT and PANTERA respectively) amongst the highest charting metal debuts to crack Billboard's Top 200 since Slipknot's 1999 self-titled album. Genesis also landed at the #4 position on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart, at #5 on Billboard's Hard Rock Albums chart and was the #3 best-selling album overall - regardless of genre - in the San Antonio, TX marketplace, where JOB FOR A COWBOY held their sold out CD release party on Tuesday, May 15th.

"Metal Blade is very excited by our great start with Job For A Cowboy," comments Metal Blade Records owner and founder Brian Slagel. "We feel this band has a great career ahead of them and we are very pleased by these first steps." Slagel, the man known for releasing the first recordings by METALLICA in 1982 and signing SLAYER the very next year, welcomed Job For A Cowboy to his label's roster in 2006.

The first music video from Genesis - for the album's roll out track 'Embedded' - made its world network premiere as part of MTV2's long-running Headbanger's Ball program. The eye-opening 'Embedded' video was directed by Popcore and provides the perfect visual accompaniment to the band's advanced aural assault. In alignment with the quasi-conceptual theme(s) of Genesis, the impelling 'Embedded' clip details the events surrounding the 'Verichip', a RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) implant that some say is close to turning from eerie idea, to full-blown reality. On Friday, June 8th, Job For A Cowboy will join a hot list of artists that includes VELVET REVOLVER, WOLFMOTHER and KORN in launching the 2007 Download Festival, set to take place June 8th, 9th and 10th at the spiritual home of rock music in England: Donington Park. Job For A Cowboy will tour North America this summer as one of the featured acts of the 2007 Sounds of the Underground Tour, set to kick off on Friday, July 6th in Dallas, TX.
