As previously reported, the SCORPIONS, ALICE COOPER, KINGDOM COME and THE RASMUS have scheduled live dates in Russia this month. Vladivostoktimes.ru spoke to Kingdom Come mainman Lenny Wolf recently about a number of topics. A few excerpts from the chat follow:

Vladivostoktimes.ru: Why did you choose this name for the band?

Wolf: "Well, it was long time ago. When I came to America in 1985 I started a band called STONE FURY with my former manager. But some time later it broke up. I was hiding in the studio for two months and writing, writing, wring. Then 'Kingdom' came out and I just said 'Yea, let the kingdom come!' and then this joke came to life. So Kingdom Come just sounds really good."

Vladivostoktimes.ru: What musicians except forLED ZEPPELIN had an influence on you?

Wolf: "Oh, I think I was influenced much - actually more than any other - with THE BEATLES. The Beatles actually get me started. When I was 14 year old I listened to their chill out. I just wanted to conquer the world, I was standing on the roof in Germany like Beatles did on the other roof studio in London so I was standing with my friend on the roof and playing, and thinking 'Oh we gonna make it, we got it all, we gotta become the next Beatles. The Beatles is the band which really get me started. I still love the Beatles even though I don’t listen to them so much any more. I also can name such bands as AC/DC, JIMI HENDRIX. But nowadays I listen to RAMMSTEIN, DEPECHE MODE."

Vladivostoktimes.ru: What is the most successful and fruitful period of your 20 year career in your opinion?

Wolf: "Obviously and it’s not secret the beginning of Kingdom Come in 1988-89 and '90. From a materialistic point of view those were the most successful years. From the creative point of view I’m very content, I’m very happy of what I’m doing the last few years. So it depends on how we look at it."
