KISS' Gene Simmons has issued the following update:

"Superbowl Sunday started off with a meeting with lawyers, and our team to discuss the launch of a new venture, funded by one of the largest funds on the West Coast. When I can be more specific, I will.

Then off to the Playboy Mansion with Miss Tweed, Soph, and Nick to watch the game.

Nick and Soph have been going to the mansion ever since they were little kids. On Easter Sundays, Hef would invite former and present Playmates to bring their kids to search for multi-colored eggs hidden all over the grounds. Only kids were allowed to search for the eggs. The winner who collected the most eggs would win prices.

On the way in, Hef came over to greet us and take fotos. And the kids went off to socialize. Soph noticed a board with boxes, like a checkerboard over in the corner. It was a contest. Buy a box for $10. At the end of the Superbowl game, the winning box wins all the money. And the winner is -- Sophie!!! She walked out of there with $250. That's my girl.

Hugh Hefner also has a documentary celebrating his life is making the rounds of the film festivals. I had forgotten I was interviewed for the docu a year ago. Apparently my bit opens the documentary. Have not seen it as yet.

A word about the game:

I was rooting for New Orleans.

Here's why. This is a city that has given America so much. Mardi Gras. New Orleans Jambalaya. Dr. John. Professor Longhair. NEVILLE BROS. The Culture. The food. The horrible devastation that has hit the city by Mother Nature, the economy, and all sorts of other ills would have sunk most other cities. And yet, when our tv crews visited the city to film two episodes, we were welcomed with open arms by the people of the city. Warm. Smiling. And... happy.!!!

There IS such a thing as a Soul of a City. And for New Orleans, it's the people.

As I was watching the Superbowl game, I was particularly struck by the closeups of the faces of the Saints, who were trailing 10 to 0. I didn't see any panic. I saw determination. I knew then that the Saints wouldn't just win. They would trounce the Colts. Yes. Even with Manning on the team.

And, they did!!!

Why? Because the Saints weren't just playing a football game. They were fighting for their city. For their Dignity. For their Pride. And even if the Colts were a better team, the Saints had a higher calling.

Throughout this whole story, the one thing that's been overlooked is the fact that The Saints and New Orleans have never won a Superbowl. Ever.

Until now.

It takes the worst of times, to bring out the best in people.

A salute to the Saints for playing their hearts out.

Well deserved."
