KISS’ GENE SIMMONS Says “The Idea Of Merchandise And Licensing Stuff Came From Disney”

The Sun's National Entertainment editor Mark Daniell sat down for an exclusive interview recently with Gene Simmons for an update on on MoneyBag Vodka, the KISS Museum and more. KISS has their logo on, well, everything! Simmons explains:

“The idea of merchandise and licensing stuff, really came from Disney. I hated the idea that there were rules. If you were in a rock band, you weren’t supposed to sell out. On the other hand, I thought the idea was that you should always try to sell out … every night. The merchandise thing started all the way back at the beginning when we noticed fans showing up with home-made t-shirts. We started making our own stuff before we had companies interested in what we were doing. The classic business model is giving the audience what it wants.”
