LACUNA COIL Frontman Andrea Ferro Reveals More Dark Adrenaline Album Details In New Audio Interview
November 30, 2011, 12 years ago
Greece's Rock Overdose has issued a 22-minute audio interview with LACUNA COIL frontman Andrea Ferro. An excerpt is transcribed below:
Q: Starting, could you tell us a few things about the new album (Dark Adrenaline) as a review?
A: "Yeah, basically there are 12 new songs and the material is pretty dark. It is a powerful album with various songs, some strong similar to our last releases, some more like an anthem with big choruses and some ballads. We recorded the album in Milan and the vocals in Los Angeles. The mixing and the mastering were done in Milan as well with the personnel that we worked in the past. We are very excited, we want the people to listen to the album and that's why we released the single 'Trip To Darkness' and in December we will release a video for that song. That's all for now. We are looking forward for the album release so people can listen to it."
Q: How did you come up with the title Dark Adrenaline? And can you tell us a couple of things about the artwork of both album and 'Trip To Darkness' single?
A: "Let's start with the title. It was really hard to come up with it. It seems simple but we wanted to combine the darkness with power that was the outcome of the album. We thought of using the word "black" instead of "dark" because it's very common but we decided that "dark" was fitting more to the whole feeling. The "adrenaline" came simply because it expresses the power that comes out of the darkness. So the title seemed perfect for what we wanted. The artwork of the single was designed by Marco (Coti Zelati), our bass player and it depicts a scared baby in the darkness, perfect for the title 'Trip To Darkness'. The artwork of the album, was designed after we discussed it with the record company and they wanted to have this dark adrenaline in these vials so you can see what we created. There will be an alternative artwork designed by Marco and it will look like a horror comic picture. There will be a standard edition with the normal artwork and a special edition, with the one Marco made, that will be released later. Maybe we will put some bonus material in the special edition but we will see. At the moment there is only the standard one."
