hot flashes news lion share

Hard Rock Haven recently spoke to LION'S SHARE founder/guitarist Lars Chriss. Following is a portion of the interview:

HRH: Why do you think the band has continually gotten heavier over the years; was this a conscious decision or did it just happen naturally?

Lars: "I was always the biggest metalhead in the old line-up so when I decided to put together a new line-up I made sure everybody was into the same direction I was heading for. I feel I have returned to my roots with this album. I mean my riffing style and way of writing melodies was there in the past too, but now we decided to use a minimum of keyboards and left out the progressive stuff we did in the beginning. We wanted to bring more energy to the songs. This album has more uptempo songs than any other LS album. I knew exactly what kind of guys I wanted on the album so everyone was handpicked for a reason."

HRH: Since I’m in the States, I just received the promo copy of Emotional Coma. So, I was completely surprised to read on your MySpace page that you guys have the whole next CD written, and are recording vocals this month! What can you tell us about the new album, and will it be a concept album?

Lars: "We are finishing up writing the last couple of songs as we speak. We will mix the album at the end of June and hope to release it in October if everything goes according to plan. Patrik started writing lyrics that reflected things that happened during 1968, so this is probably why he said it would be something more towards a concept album. Since then I believe he’s been covering other events as well, but I think all lyrics will reflect things that happened during the '60s, even though it’s not a concept album like for example Operation Mindcrime. We don’t have any plans to play the album from start to finish or have a stage set built around this theme. I think he was only telling the closest fans on his MySpace what he was up to and then it got picked up by media. We had no intention to break the news now that we are still promoting Emotional Coma in USA, Russia and South America."
