Danish metallers MERCENARY recently finished the recordings of their sixth studio album with producer Jacob Hansen and will be playing new material at a few exclusive live shows in the fall. According to a press release, the new incarnation of Mercenary displays a newfound musical focus, appetite and maturity, and while the material is now heavier and faster, it still features the characteristic clean vocals, catchy choruses and atmospheric keyboards and samples. Keyboards provided by guest musician Kim Olesen of ANUBIS GATE.

During the last decade, Mercenary have been one the most active Danish metalbands. In late 2009, however, the band parted ways with their drummer, one of their singers and their keyboard player, as there was no longer any shared musical vision for the future of the band. Mercenary’s current lineup now includes guitarists Jakob Mølbjerg and Martin Buus, bassist and singer René Pedersen, as well as drummer Morten Løwe. Live, Mercenary will provide a taste of the new album and direction as well as new interpretations of their older songs.

Videos from the recordings of the new album are available below.

Upcoming live dates:

September

30 - The Rock - København, Denmark

October

1 - Studenterhuset - Aalborg, Denmark
