MOTÖRHEAD Expected To Release Aftershock Album In September; Lemmy Fitted With Defibrillator
June 19, 2013, 11 years ago
Having hinted earlier this week that a new album is on the way, MOTÖRHEAD have revealed the title for their new studio album and follow-up to The Wörld Is Yours (2010). Entitled Aftershock, the band's new album is expected to be released this September.
Aftershock was recorded at California's Maple Sound Studios (Santa Ana), produced by Cameron Webb. The album will include 13 tracks, titles including 'Dust And Glass', 'Knife', 'Going To Mexico', 'Lost Woman Blues', 'Death Machine' and 'Heartbreaker'.
Complete album details coming soon.
Meanwhile, Classic Rock magazine is reporting that frontman Lemmy Kilmister recently underwent an operation to have a defibrillator fitted into his chest, to assist with an irregular heart beat. The surgery followed what Lemmy described as, “heart problems".
Motörhead recently confirmed that their annual run of UK dates will, as always, be taking place this November and this time they’re bringing the mighty SAXON with them.
Motörhead - Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee - have released over 20 studio albums over their 38 year career. Their MO is simple, ‘WE ARE MOTÖRHEAD… AND WE PLAY ROCK N ROLL’. Known for being one of the most hard working bands in rock n roll, they have well and truly cemented their iconic status in the annals of rock legend, their yearly exodus across the UK, being no different. A must see for any self respecting fan, young or old.
This year, they will be bringing the heavy metal monster that is Saxon with them as very special guests. Having been one of the front runners for the New Wave OF British Heavy Metal in the 80s, the band went on to sell over 15 million record worldwide and have had 8 UK top 40 albums. German rockers, SKEW SISKEN will once again be taking to the road as support, having opened for Motörhead on their 2010 UK tour.
