NON-FICTION Guitarist Speaks About Reunion Show

hot flashes news non fiction

NON-FICTION/HADES Guitarist Dan Lorenzo recently spoke with Jersey Beat founder Jim Testa. Below is part of the interview:

Q: What inspired the Non-Fiction reunion, and how much practice will it take for you guys to get back up to speed?

Lorenzo: "The drummer Mike and I always flirted with the idea. We had a band with (OVERKILL vocalist) Bobby Blitz called THE CURSED (http://www.the-cursed.net) that sounded pretty much like Non-Fiction. I think whenever we wanted to we'd put out feelers to our old bassist Kevin. The timing was never right though. I play basketball outside whenever it's nice out. Basketball is murder on my fingers because they're always getting jammed. I was playing guitar the other night and it hurt. We'll only practice a few times. Non-Fiction was always fun to play live with because we'd only rehearse new songs so that always kept it fresh live.

Q: What’s your take on the current state of the music business? Aspiring to a major label deal today seems almost pointless. And yet obviously not every local band is in the position of a RADIOHEAD or NINE INCH NAILS tojust give away their music online – you still have to pay for guitar strings and put gas in the van. Can a metal band hope to sell enough CD’s in today’s digital world to be self-sustaining?

Lorenzo: "One in a million can. Good odds, huh, Jim? Honestly you just have to play music for fun. When we get back together on Saturday November 7th at Dingbatz in Clifton, it's going to be fun. I always stopped my bands when it stopped being fun. There are other ways to make money.
