Once Again, AC/DC Hits #1 In The United States
July 3, 2024, 4 months ago
There are one or two Billboard charts where AC/DC can almost always be found, reports Forbes. These days, Americans stream and buy several of the band’s hits in huge enough numbers to place on at least one tally every frame, and the Australian rockers maintain a near-constant presence in the upper reaches of several roster.
This week, the band even manages to return to #1 on one list. AC/DC doesn’t score a new chart-topper, but the fact that they’re still ruling with one of their oldest cuts - one which has been around for decades - shows just how massively popular they still are to this day.
AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” returns to the summit on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart this week. The tune steps up from #2 to #1, where it’s already spent a lot of time.
As of this frame, “Thunderstruck” has now ruled the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales tally for 50 weeks. It’s one of a very small number of tracks to rack up that many stays on the throne of any Billboard list.
This time around, “Thunderstruck” is AC/DC’s only hit on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales ranking. The band usually fills at least two spaces, and sometimes they command as many as four or five slots. The list is especially crowded this frame, as Black Veil Brides earn three new smashes. At the same time, favorites from Nickelback and Hardy also find their way back to the roster.
