PAUL RODGERS Receives Prestigious British Songwriting Award

The most prestigious British Music Awards, The Ivor Novello, were handed out in London on Wednesday (May 18th). PAUL RODGERS (FREE, BAD COMPANY, QUEEN) was awarded for outstanding contribution to British music.

The award was presented by Chris Blackwell, founder of Island Records and the first label to sign Paul with his band, Free.

Other past recipients include PAUL MCCARTNEY, ERIC CLAPTON, DAVID BOWIE, and ELTON JOHN.

Also in attendance Jimmy Page (LED ZEPPELIN), Elton John, STEVE WINWOOD, PLAN B, MUSE along with new artists TINIE TEMPH, DIZZEE RASCAL, and CONOR O'BRIEN.
