Report: JOE PERRY Says AEROSMITH Are Back On Track
May 14, 2010, 14 years ago
AEROSMITH guitarist JOE PERRY has exclusively revealed to Classic Rock that the group’s reconnection with Steven Tyler has renewed a hunger to succeed. Only months ago the Bostonians were being linked to a variety of singers, including PAUL RODGERS, LENNY KRAVITZ and BILLY IDOL, in order to allow the band to continue touring.
“We had no idea what was going on or what we could do,” admits Perry, “but all it took to get things back on track was a simple conversation between Steven and I. We are rehearsing for the European tour [which includes a date headlining the Download Festival on June 13th] and the atmosphere in the room is just incredible. Everyone in the band is at the top of their game, including Steven whose singing is awesome. He also looks great.”Perry claims that Aerosmith’s inner vibe is so strong that it could be 1971 all over again, despite this year being the quartet’s 40th anniversary.
“The past few months have felt like an eternity and with all that’s gone on we know we have lot to prove to people,” he volunteers. “In that sense we feel like a baby band all over again.”Read the full report at Classic Rock.
