REV THEORY is currently embarking on The Monster Energy Outbreak Tour. Singer Rich Luzzi has checked in with BraveWords.com to discuss the tour and the band's new release, Justice, out now on Interscope Records.

Bravewords.com: Rev Theory is currently on The Monster Energy Outbreak Tour.

Luzzi: "Basically, what it is is five bands. It is a really low-ticket price. All the bands that are on the bill, are pretty young, hungry, and up and coming bands. It is a great show. You get a lot of bang for your buck. Basically, all it is going to be is five bands onstage throwing down hard. It is all about the live show and music. It is an amazing opportunity for us to be able to headline this tour and it's coincides with the release of our record Justice. We can't thank Monster enough for helping us put it together."

Bravewords.com: I know the band has been off of the road for about a year. Tell us about the writing process for Justice.

Luzzi: “Basically what happened was, we came off the road in January and we started the album writing when we were still on the road on the last record. We had the leeway with the label to really take the time writing the record we really wanted to write. We are really proud of it, and it is really a cohesive piece of work. It is definitely a much more aggressive record. When we all got in the room with each other we were all kind of feeling the same frustration regarding socially, musically and relationship wise. There is just a lot that happened over the last two years. It was just a great writing experience for everybody to really put it out on the the line and write a really raw, aggressive record."

Bravewords.com: Would you say it is a lot heavier than your previous release?

Luzzi: "It is still extremely melodic. We got Terry Date (PANTERA, DEFTONES) who produced the record. He really captured a really raw, and charismatic part of the band. It is a much more heavier and aggressive record but it still has the melody that we are used to writing."

Bravewords.com: How did you come up with the title Justice? It seems like it is a recurring theme in your songs?

Luzzi: "Yes, that is basically what it is. We didn't set out to write a concept record or themed record or anything like that. It just so happened that a lot of the songs when we started writing them carried the same theme. The title track and new single Justice was written awhile back with another band that we were really good friends with. It was what was going on in society at the same time. Unfortunately, it never saw the light of day. When we started writing this album and realized what had happened there we just had to fine-tune it a bit and it was still going on today. We had so many names for the record but thinking of just what was going on economically, socially, politically, it just felt so right to name the record Justice and put that out as the first track.
