Obinsk, Russia-based death/doom metallers MELISSA are entering KING DIAMOND guitarist Andy La Rocque's Sonic Train Studios in Varberg, Sweden to record their new album, to be recorded and produced by La Rocque.

In 1995 the band released their debut album, In Mourning, on major record label MetalAgen/Soyuz with massive distribution in CIS countries. This album was recognized exceptionally well in Russia. Due to the continuing demand, the sold out In Mourning album was remastered and re-released in 2002.

The next two albums, In Peace..? and"Living In A Daymare"(released in 1999 and 2004) showed the band's move towards a wider spectrum of rock music genres. The band play live and record with a violin, a trumpet and a saxophone, still remaining metal.

In recent years, Melissa has reformed almost in its entirety. The band is touring extensively and plans to record the new album (working title: In The Face Of Death) at Sonic Train Studios. The new album will contain a mix of brand new songs like 'I Hate You', 'Void', 'Today' and re-recorded old classics from the 90s - 'Burning', 'Dark Deeds', 'Narcotherapy'.

The album will feature Andy La Rocque on solo guitar on one song and SNOWY SHAW on drums as a guest appearance on two songs. The expected release date in Russia is fall 2011; European release dates are being negotiated.
