German rockers THE NEW BLACK have issued the following update:

"Blackies and Blackettes!

We know, we know... looks like we almost forgot to tell you what's going on. Well, we were on the road with DRAGONFORCE a couple of weeks ago, but most importantly we are so busy working on our second album. So let's say it one more time, and quite officially, too:

The New Black have begun with the recording of their second album, which will be released spring/summer next year via AFM Records!

Sounds good, doesn't it? What started as a stupid idea born out of the love of 'the riff' (and a tsunami of Caipirinhas, to be honest), is going into round two. Ha! We have around 17 songs in different states of completion, some of them in true TNB fashion, some of them with a twist or two, but all kicking our asses or patting our backs. Or both.

Phat guitars: Check. Killer hooklines: Check. Shamelessy playing exactly what we like: Check.

Several people said the new stuff sounds heavier and more metal, others said it sounds more Rrrrock and even more melodic, so you do the math: It's TNB and then some.

We make the boobies and the balls shake! More details later.

...and thanks for all."

The band's live schedule is currently as follows:

December

11 - Würzburg, Germany B-Hof (with BULLETMONKS)
12 - Cham, Germany - Eventhalle

March

6 - Esslingen, Germany - Rock For One World
