THE WHO - Keith Moon Biopic To Start Filming In June

According to Variety, The Real Me is a forthcoming biopic on The Who's famous drummer Keith Moon. Based on a Quadrophenia song, it has band members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend are on board as executive producers, with Paul Whittington (The Crown, White House Farm) directing using a script by Jeff Pope (Oscar-nominated Philomena).

Los Angeles-based White Horse Pictures is producing, best known for seminal Martin Scorsese documentary George Harrison: Living In The Material World, as well as Ron Howard’s Beatles documentary Eight Days a Week: The Touring Years.

Shooting is set to begin in June, with Sinclair, Oliver Veysey and Jeanne Elfant Festa, along with The Who’s long-time manager Bill Curbishley, producing.

Moon died from a drug overdose in London at the age of 32 in 1978, just days after the release of Who Are You.
