Toronto's legendary El Mocambo in partnership with THEMUSEUM exhibition The Rolling Stones | UNZIPPED invites you to celebrate the 45th anniversary of The Rolling Stones' 1977 secret gigs at the famed venue this weekend, March 4th and 5th.
Sponsored by Heineken, MOGO and Coinsquare, the event will feature a special music performance from well-known Stones cover band, The Blushing Brides, plus original artwork by guitarist Ronnie Wood and artifacts from The Rolling Stones first 60 years.
UNZIPPED is currently on display at THEMUSEUM in downtown Kitchener, and offers a once in a lifetime experience, celebrating the power of music, art, and design with a behind the scenes look at one of the world’s greatest rock bands.
The Rolling Stones relationship with the iconic venue dates back to March 1977, when the band (billed as The Cockroaches), played surprise back-to-back gigs at The El Mocambo with April Wine as their opener. Both shows were recorded and some of the songs later became side three of the album Love You Live.
Tickets for the special event and Stones cover band Blushing Brides’ performances are now available at El Mocambo for both March 4 and March 5. Guests must be 19+.
The Rolling Stones | UNZIPPED delivered by DHL, is by and about the world-famous rock band. The show features hundreds of original Stones artifacts and memorabilia, offering the most comprehensive and immersive insight into the band’s nearly sixty-year journey.
