ANAAL NATHRAKH - Passion

England's ANAAL NATHRAKH has never been a subtle proposition. After decimating all conceptions of black metal with '01's monumental The Codex Necro the band transfixed and transpired, eventually writing the album of its career (and one of the most egregiously uncompromising records of the '00s) in '09's In The Constellation of the Black Widow. Since that album, Anaal Nathrakh has been in another league (with Satan) entirely, the group ascending to the heights of infuriated propositions and shattered, disavowed ideals. Passion is, admittedly, not a perfect record like In The Constellation of the Black Widow was, but it continues Anaal Nathrakh's artistic arc and summarizes the group's statement of purpose nicely: if you see any conception of the good in the sickness the world surrounds us with, you need expire. With Passion as the soundtrack guiding your demise.
