DYING FETUS - Destroy The Opposition

Probably one of the reigning leaders and one of the most experienced bands in the American underground death metal scene, Maryland's Dying Fetus return with their most ferocious release. Finally securing the deal with Relapse (after years of releasing albums on their own), which happened at this year's Milwaukee Metalfest, Dying Fetus have been a band who have stood their own ground, saw their goal and just went for it. Destroy The Opposition is one of those albums which shows the band's multi-dimensional approach taken to extreme. With many elements abounding, the hyper-blast barrage mixed with a fine stirring groove assault along with thick technical precision (can't forget the band's infamous guitar doodling) serves as a strong-boned skeleton over which is layered the dual rabid vocal attack, spewing out hatred towards all conformity, projected through social awareness themes. It's the bands best album production-wise, a step up from Killing On Adrenaline, and as brutal as ever; destined to tear you to shreds. But to get the full experience, see them live. You shall be floored.
