DYING FETUS - Stop At Nothing

And to think that this band's future was hanging in the balance when 3/4th's of the previous Dying Fetus line-up went on to form the highly overrated Misery Index, sole remaining member John Gallagher rounds up new troops and breaths new life into this corpse. Unfortunately, Stop At Nothing fails to deliver the sheer power that albums like Killing On Adrenaline and Destroy The Opposition embodied. Instead, what we get here is by-the-numbers brutal underground Americana death metal, with an odd twist. But then again, this sounds like it can go right in the pile with all of those other standard brutal underground death metal acts. In a scene where Dying Fetus were one of the reigning kings (the throne now held by bands like Skinless, Vile, Origin, Harkairi, Wasteform, Kalibas, etc.), the band have now succumbed to mediocrity amongst the pack.
