DYING FETUS - War Of Attrition

Dying Fetus has topped Killing On Adrenaline. Yes, I realize the magnitude of that statement: in some circles, it’s probably considered heresy. But it’s true – Dying Fetus has indeed one-upped Killing On Adrenaline. Playing with serious amounts of inspiration and vengeance, Dying Fetus’ first record in almost four years sees these Marylanders menacing in fine fashion on their way to reclaiming the crown. And the listener - on more than one occasion - gets the feeling that Dying Fetus mastermind John Gallagher really wants to prove to the world that Fetus is still a vital, necessary death metal leader. Well, if that was actually Gallagher’s intent, then it’s mission accomplished, with War Of Attrition being one intense monster, fast riffs flying everywhere and Dying Fetus’ super-groove in total effect. Add to that one of the coolest snare sounds I’ve ever heard complimented by all kinds of entertaining and off-the-wall double-kick passages and you’ve got a killer record on your hands. Go forth and experience for yourself.
