JEFF WOODS - Radio, Records & Rockstars

Jeff Woods is a Canadian radio icon. He created and hosted the nationally syndicated show, The Legends Of Classic Rock, from 2001 to 2015. At the peak of its popularity, Legends boasted more than a million weekly listeners. Now, one of our nation’s most recognizable voices on the FM dial has put his story on paper for all to enjoy. Jeff takes the reader on a no-holds-barred journey as he sojourns back and forth across The Great White North, including stops in: Oshawa, London, Halifax, Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver. Much more than just a disc jockey - most notably on Q107 - Woods has worked as a program director, record store owner, and label exec. Those clamouring for an insider’s perspective have found it. Jeff survived radio’s ugly transition from mom-and-pop owned stations to the current age of consolidation and corporatization – and lived to tell about it in the most compelling manner. Woods bares all, not only about radio, but also about his affinity for motorcycles and women – including four marriages.

Interspersed amongst Jeff’s most intimate personal and professional details, is the transcription of an astounding 36 interviews he’s conducted with members of rock’s A-list. Woods has the perfect penchant for getting legendary musicians to really open up and share a tale or two. A sampling of those who speak, in-depth, to Woods include: Ozzy Osbourne (Black Sabbath), Sammy Hagar (Van Halen), Angus Young (AC/DC), David Bowie, Robby Krieger (The Doors), all three members of Rush, Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones), Carlos Santana, Nikki Sixx (Mötley Crüe), David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), as well as Robert Plant and Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin). And to think that some overpaid suit in the office with a view actually said, “People don’t care about music history anymore.” How wrong he was!
