Music industry veteran and metal musician Steve "Buckshot" Seabury brings you Mosh Potatoes - Recipes, Anecdotes & Mayhem From The Heavyweights Of Heavy Metal.

Mosh Potatoes features 147 exciting recipes from legendary icons like Lemmy (MOTÖRHEAD), Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, ex-OZZY OSBOURNE) and LITA FORD to the thrash titans of PANTERA, MEGADETH, TESTAMENT, OVERKILL, to the hair metal bands GUNS & ROSES, DOKKEN, L.A. GUNS, STEEL PANTHER, TWISTED SISTER to the mayhem of metal including MUDVAYNE, LAMB OF GOD, SHADOWS FALL, HATEBREED and DEVILDRIVER to death metal pioneers of NAPALM DEATH, OBITUARY, DEATH and SEPULTURA and the book wouldn't be complete without the future of the new school like MUNICIPAL WASTE, SKELETONWITCH, LAZARUS AD, EVILE and MOTH EATER.

BW&BK;'s Mitch Lafon caught up with Seabury to chat about one thing just as cool as heavy metal - food!

BW&BK;: Why a rock n roll/metal cookbook? Will you follow it up with other genres of music cookbooks such as pop, kids, dance, etc?

Seabury: "That's funny. Working for various labels throughout the years I have become good friends with a ton of bands. We always spoke about the same shit; sports, music and food. One night after stumbling home from a concert I had the munchies big time. All I had in my apartment was some eggs, Taco Bell Fire Sauce and a couple of other things that I am sure were well over the expiration date. I asked myself what would Lemmy do in this situation? The next morning Mosh Potatoes took shape."

BW&BK;: How did you find the artists to participate? Was it difficult?

Seabury: "I basically went through my CD collection. I am a big fan of all things metal. I started reaching out to my favorite bands, bands that I worked with and the bands that I knew who loved to eat. Everyone that I spoke to loved the idea and the recipes started flowing in. I probably received over 300 recipes and I took the best 150 recipes for the book."

BW&BK;: How long did it take you to put the project together?

Seabury: "I started working on the book when I was working for Artemis Records back in 2005. Once I got a handful of recipes I started pitching the idea to publishing companies, big and small and everyone basically told me to take a walk. They all told me that metal music and food don't mix. I hung up every rejection letter on the wall and used it for motivation. Just because we all like our music loud, fast and heavy doesn't mean we dont enjoy making and eating amazing food. Last year I got a call from the fellow headbanger folks at Simon & Schuster. They prepared some of the recipes and were blown away on how great they were. They instantly got it and the deal was done."

BW&BK;: Were you surprised by the diversity and quality of recipes submitted?

Seabury: "Everyone has to eat and we all have our family favorite recipes so I wasn't that surprised. Each of these bands in Mosh Potatoes have all toured the world experiencing foods that most of us would never get the chance to taste. There is such an amazing diversity of food in this collection. Every turn of a page you have a different culinary experience. Each recipe gives you a backstage pass and the personal view into the private homes of all of these great artist. I think its really cool and I hope you do too."

BW&BK;: Did you try any of the recipes? Is every recipe a winner? What are your top five favorite recipes today (as I know they can change from day to day)?

Seabury: "I have tried and cooked up about 80 percent. I love cooking, eating and drinking a good beer. I am a big fan of the Evile - Cheese On Toast recipe, if you like chili then you are going to freak out when you try Chuck Schuldiner's Evil Chili that his mom sent me, Zakk Wylde's Spaghetti & Meatballs, the Pantera - Texas BBQ From Hell and Joey Z has a kick ass recipe called Stuffed Lobster Zampella. There are so many its super hard to narrow it down. Wait to you try the pies, cookies and cake section on the book. The guys in Fear Factory, Hatebreed and Megadeth can bake some bad ass goodies. I am getting hungry now just thinking about it. The one recipe that I haven't tried yet and I am very scared to cook is a recipe called Krakatoa Surprise from Lemmy. I want someone to send me a photo with them eating that one. It's insane!!!!"

BW&BK;: What's you back ground in music? Did you play in a band? If so, will you be recording a new album soon or going on tour?

Seabury: "I grew up playing music. I was introduced to the saxophone when I was 8 years old and I played it all through college. I used to play in a band called DIRTY RIG with the self-proclaimed legend Kory Clarke and now I am jamming with a doom band called MOTH EATER. We just released a digital EP called The Thunder God of Monster Island through Giddy Up! Records. We are going to enter the studio in January and release a full in the spring of 2011. I can't wait to do some touring around the release. It's going to be a lot of fun. So come out to the gigs and say hello. I will be at the bar enjoying a beer."

BW&BK;: What other projects are you currently working on? Either in music or in food....

Seabury: "I have been working hard on starting my own label and management company. On November 9th I will be releasing the new PLACE OF SKULLS record that I am beyond excited about. Victor kicks major ass on the guitar. Its an absolute honor to have him on the Giddy Up! Records roster. If anyone is looking for a label home or needs management please drop me a line."

BW&BK;: Any other books in your future?

Seabury: "I just started working on my second one. Its a fun and creative challenge. But my main focus right now is on the marketing and promotion of Mosh Potatoes. If this one doesn't sell then I might not get a second one!"

BW&BK;: What do you prefer - making music or making food?

Seabury: "I love them both equally but I do prefer drinking beer and humping my wife first."

BW&BK;: Time to plug -- so what do you got? Get 'em all in....

Seabury: "I would love to plug everything that I am working on now - Giddy Up! Records, Barley & Hops Management, Giddy Up! Sauces, The Metalliance Tour and of course....Mosh Potatoes. I am always looking to help and support all things METAL. It's in my blood. Google all of these things, find me and drop me a line."
