BraveWords.com has received the following press release:

AC/DC continue to dominate sales charts around the world as Black Ice remains the #1 selling album in Canada, the US, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Argentina and Spain. Released globally on Monday October 20, 2008, Black Ice topped sales charts in 29 countries, including Canada where it sold an incredible 118,759 in its first week, marking the band's first #1 Canadian debut in the SoundScan era and the largest first week sales in the industry in Canada since 2003.

AC/DC rolled their Rock ‘n Roll train through Toronto on Friday, November 7, treating fans to an electrifying night. Reviews of the show were stellar.

The Toronto Sun stated “if they were rusty it never showed over the course of their hour-and-45-minute set as the muscular rock of their huge hits blew the roof off the Rogers Centre.” The Toronto Star reported “that is exactly what AC/DC does - it delivers the goods. No fuss, no muss, no frills…just one monster riff-rock juggernaut after another.”

2008 is shaping up to be a year of firsts for AC/DC. The band is already the highest selling artist of the year worldwide with over 10 million units between Black Ice (5.3 million copies) and the extensive catalog (5.1 million copies), the catalog itself also surpassing sales of The Beatles catalog in North America in 2008.

For the first time in the band’s extensive history, AC/DC graced the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Additionally AC/DC are the first band to release an entire album for video game play with the release of The AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack. AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack™ gives music fans a whole new way to experience rock’s hardest hitting act with access to 18 live recordings from AC/DC’s epic live performance at Castle Donington.

AC/DC kicked off their Black Ice World Tour on October 28 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The first leg of the tour runs through April 23, 2009 in Birmingham, UK, and sees AC/DC hit Canada's western shore with a stop at GM Place in Vancouver on November 28th, 2008. Vancouver Mayor Sam Sullivan officially proclaimed the date, AC/DC Day. AC/DC returns to Toronto on January 9th, 2009 at the Rogers Centre.
