hot flashes news thy will be done

THY WILL BE DONE vocalist J Costa has issued the following update:

"Thy Will Be Done is currently writing, re-writing, tweaking, and rehearsing new material for the next album in our home base of Providence, RI. The as-yet-untitled forthcoming effort is tentatively expected to surface sometime in early 2009 and will be the follow-up to 2007's Was And Is To Come.

As the year comes to an end, we've started to debut new material at recent shows to gauge some reactions and so far, the results have been positive. 2008 was spent not only touring but also writing and demoing new material; throughout the whole year. Make no mistake, this was in no way a result of any negative feelings towards our debut. We're very pleased and were quite overwhelmed with the warm reception Was And Is To Come received. It is merely a result of the drive of friends with a common goal and a shared passion to create music.

We always hear everything about people's opinion on Was And Is To Come. We hear it's great, we hear it sucks, we hear it's weak, we hear it's strong. Truth is we actually respect that everybody's got an opinion, and that's fine. We can't really please the whole world, so we mainly try to please ourselves. You can't satisfy everybody, ever. Everybody always has their way to make it better. Collectively we feel that we somehow, most likely subconsciously, always manage to avoid the trap that it seems a lot of modern musicians run in to. It often appears there are so many that listen to everybody else or go with whatever's hot at the moment and get caught up in those kinds of influences. I'd say we're not thinking that way at all. We've just been writing music that we'd like to hear and we think some others will dig it.

I won't wax poetic when asked why the band has been demoing material for the next album throughout the course of the past year. We just want to know exactly what we're doing when we go into the studio as to not waste time. We usually don't get all that much. If it's anything like the last time it's: record, sleep on the floor, couch, or if we do record with Zeuss again, sleep on the bed in the band house for a couple hours, wake up super early, drive to work two or three hours away, work all day, drive back to the studio, record, and repeat. The price to pay being a working class band. But, it's worth it to us. No complaints here. More importantly, we want to come out with a quality product that we ourselves would buy, and that hopefully any fans we do have will like. That's important to us.

Though still in the process of writing the new songs, we're eager to add fresh material and ideas to our repertoire. One thing we're hoping for is (that) no matter where the listener is; wherever they are on their path of life — (that) there's going to be so many layers to the lyrics and music for everyone to gain something from. When making music, that's the main purpose. We're hoping that people will turn on that music and get inspiration.

...And rest assured, this album promises to be the most radio-friendly, cookie-cutter, chock full o' the same clean crooning chorus in every song, that from the first note you'll be sure to scream, 'SELL OUTS!' Afterall, we've decided to merge Rapcore and Funk Polka to make our sound. It proves to be the 'Easy Listening Favorite of 2009.' Oh yeah, and we've got nine breakdowns in every song.

To everyone that has read this and has cared for and has supported this band in any way, Thank You! Your support of this band has proven that when coupled with hard work and sacrifice, dreams do come true. Stay tuned for more on the new songs. Much Love and Maximum Respect.

PEACE

~J~"
