BW&BK; has received the following press release:
Newly launched Absurdist Records has signed Ottawa's "Premium Canadian Neofolk" act MUSK OX as the first signing to their roster. MUSK OX's self-titled debut is due out January 19th, 2009.
The album was released independently last year and gained praise from various weeklies, onlines sites and magazines for the beautiful guitar work, lush atmosphere and dynamic harmonies, likening the music's sound to the works of AGALLOCH, EMPYRIUM, TENHI, MOONSORROW and early-era ULVER.
The album is being re-released on Absurdist Records with all new artwork by Mikko Lehto (OCTOBER FALLS), remastered by Siegfried Meier (THINE EYES BLEED) and a bonus track: 'Lullaby For Ghosts'.
The full tracklisting: 'Un Jardin Au Bout Du Monde', 'Sur Une Infine Route De Terre', 'Entre La Terre Et Le Ciel', 'Les Plus Beaux De Nos Jours', 'Lullaby For Ghosts'.
The album will be available for pre-order starting December 15th, 2008 at this location.
Bio:
Musk Ox is a one-man project focused on combining lush acoustics with expansive arrangements, and delicate textures, a forlorn journey through natural realms where darkness and light, substance and void, sorrow and joy, exist as a single entity. Musk Ox has quickly established himself as one of the brightest prospects in the Neofolk genre, thanks to his keen ability to capture and convey the essence of Canada's vast, magnificent landscapes through sound.
